On February 25, 2016, international students from Khazar University participated in an event commemorating the 24th anniversary of the Khojaly massacre, a tragic event that took place in 1992. The event was organized by the Knowledge Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and took place at the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan.
Ms. Naila Valikhanly, the director of the museum, and head of the office at the Knowledge Foundation, Mr. Isakhan Valiyev, opened the event and welcomed all the guests.
The event consisted of a screening of a documentary about the Khojaly massacre and performances by local schoolchildren who recited poems and sang songs dedicated to the event. At the end of the event, all students were taken on a guided tour of the museum.
Full-time and exchange international students from Afghanistan, Cameroon, Czech Republic, Gambia, Italy, Kuwait, Pakistan, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, Yemen, and Zimbabwe who currently study at Khazar University participated in the event.
