On October 25-27, within the framework of the Tempus Program seminar "Migration and Higher Education - Building Skills and Capacity," the 2nd seminar dedicated to "curriculum development" was held at Tbilisi State University (TSU). Project employees of the universities from Europe and the South Caucasus and heads of International Organization for Migration of Azerbaijan and Georgia participated in the seminar. Director of the Khazar University Migration Competence Center, Leyla Niyazova, Director of International Students and Scholars Center, Ayten Shadlinskaya, and instructors Jeyhun Mammadov, Reshad Huseynov, Vusal Behbudov and Rasmiyya Badirova represented Khazar University at the event.
The meeting was opened by the Vice President of TSU, Professor Levan Aleksidze, and Head of the Georgian International Organization for Migration, Ilyana Derilova. Then coordinators’ reports on the project were presented and the results of first seminar were discussed.
On the second day of the seminar, participants worked on the curriculum modules in working groups. Then representatives of Graz University, Austria and University of Alicante, Spain made presentations about the European experience in the field of migration.
On the third day of the seminar, financial issues, purpose and dates of the next visits was discussed and the next steps for the effective implementation of the project were determined. At the end of the seminar, employees of Khazar University presented their proposals about a conference to be held jointly with Qafqaz University by the end of 2013 for more comprehensive coverage of the project.
